The Job
I got the job!!! So it's teaching, of course and as a substitute (of course, hey, I'm JUST graduated) but for the whole next year, which is great. And I even get paid for the summer holiday (until July 31st 2006) like all real teachers do so I'm quite content. The school is about 5 km from where we live and I'll be teaching the smaller pupils again: 3rd-6th graders. English and German so even the languages are right :) . I was so miserable after the interview last week. They asked such strange questions I was so sure I'd never get the place but the principal called me on Friday when I was in the ladies' underwear department at Stockmann :) (I didn't tell him where I was though)... I'll start on August 12th so no worrying for this summer :) .
Spent the weekend in Helsinki mostly celebrating J's cousin who graduated the Finnish high school (Gymnasium) on Saturday. J had a meeting on Friday with a man who knows something about his diplom thesis theme. Also met a friend (and slept at her place) who's been in Austria for the past 1.5 years. And got a wedding invitation :) .
