Oh, Bart. That was incredibly loyal and awesome of him.

Also "totally chemical" took me back as if someone had hit my head with a brick. Ouch! I'm in the 80s!

(I'm enjoying the heck out of the 80s refs. I've been thinking a lot about the 80s because my 25th high school reunion is coming up in a month OMG.)

Wow. My 25th reunion would have been this summer if my high school class were organized enough to have one. We had a 10th and it was a boring replay of our junior prom only with none of the interested classmates there (except me and my best friend, who made a pact to go together).

We had a 10th -- boring little gathering of a half dozen of us or so at a local restaurant -- and then we had a 15th -- at my best friend's house, even fewer showed, though we got some good stories out of it (like the born-again Xian wife of one of the classmates who semi-aborted her handshake with my wife because, apparently, TEH GAY might be catching). There were only 29 of us in the graduating class, so all the get-togethers fit in someone's living room for the most part.

Ahhh. My high school had something like 1100 students. My home room alone had 29 and we weren't even all of the letter S and T!

Although it's about to become 1990 in the plot. I think...

Bart is awesome. I should see if anyone would donate to get a bonus short story just about him at some point. ;-)
