This is my prompt for the summer_sam_love 2011 summer fic exchange.
Prompt: Pre-series. John and Dean baby Sam, giving him the easiest part of a hunt, yet of course the monster goes after him, hurts him, yet it's Sam who also figures out how to save the day, leaving the older Winchesters both worried and extremely proud.
