(no subject)
I'm back at work today.
We got power last night!!!! It was late, but it came back on and I was soooooo happy. It was getting seriously miserable without power and I was starting to get really upset b/c everyone around us had it.
I mean we had the generator but it was not the same. It made it bearable, but lets just say no one wants to sweat profusely in their sleep, sleep on the FLOOR to sleep by a fan, or take cold showers.
I just called the daycare and its open tommorrow. DH stayed home today with the kids but has to work tommorrow and they closed school FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK. WTF? The kids school is not even damaged!!! So tommorrow all 4 of them will go to daycare and then on Monday school should be back open.
I havent seen TOO much extensive damage here but I've heard about some and some areas slightly to the northest of us got hammered pretty bad.
I havent heard much about NOLA though. Did anyone see anything on TV?
Otherwise doing good. I wish we couldve cancelled work all week- yesterday the weather was still really bad & with hurricanes and they cancelled work so it was HARD to come back today after being able to hang out all day yesterday.
My parents got back power last night too, so thats good.
I guess thats about it for Hurricane Gustav. I see there are a few more out there...hopefully they will STAY AWAY.
