My Saturday was incredibly boring for a Saturday...it was probably because of the blizzard though.

I totally know where you are coming from. I usually do BETTER under stress but sometimes...just certain days...I feel like I am just going to break down. It happens only every once and a while.

That sucks that you had to close. I am an opener so I usually dont have to deal with closes anymore. Although I used to be their main closer on weekends. Thank God for Bday Coordinator

haha you had a blizzard? it was rainy and overcast here which as you know brings out all the guests. I used to be the opener all the time i did prep every morning mon-fri i liked having the weekends off all the time cause that almost never happens at the cheese but i really hated opening I'm one of the strange people that likes closing. I don't know what happened last night cause I'm the same as you where usually i work better stressed and i hardly ever get overwhelmed but man i swear last night i felt like and overwhelmed newbie on my first Saturday.

Yeah we have had a couple in the last few weeks! Yes rainy and overcast is GOOD for business! I hate closings sooo much. I like to work and not clean :P But I am opening tomorrow...at 8 so I will be setting up salad bar and prepping all the wonderful food! YAY...um not? lol so anyways. My trainee did something wrong on the register today...she thought she was going to be in SOOOO much trouble...lol It was so little...she acidentaly hit the 34.99 Fun Saver instead of the 33.99 Fun Saver. We got it figured out and gave them their difference, but she was so scared! I remember those days! *shrugs* That was about the most exciting thing today...oh and our booom box was raad...our chuckE rocks..hes a breakdancer...SWEET! lol And our first two parties didnt show up so I got to clock out early! It twas a great day for me...How about you? Now that today was Sunday!

See we have to do a ton of cleaning on the opening shift too. the opening cashier has to do the f.o.h cleaning and the kid check cleaning for the day so not only do we open and prep we do the cleaning too. We have to come in at 7 and we do the f.o.h cleaning from 7 to 8 and then we start opening. i'm so not a morning person i like being able to sleep in till noon and tomorrow and tuesday i open ( ... )

Wow! Yeah... well we deffinitly dont clean the foh in the morning. They do all that at night. But I do have to prep today...anyways. That was very smart of you. I would start my morning stuff as well if I closed the night efore.

LoL we call a road show a "boom box". I dunno why really...but yeah. :)

I know! I am starting to memorize prices again and its so frustrating! Oh and the subs...dont even get me started on those. I also have to learn how to make those dang things again because they changed it up on us! GRR

Hope you have a good day at work today! :)

Really your maintaince guy cleans FOH? How crazy! Our maintaince guys clean BOH. I would hate to clean bathrooms.

We try to do them as often as we can. On Weekends not as much but on weekdays we strive for the standard of once an hour. On weekends our Chuck E is always in the suit...bad i know...lol but the kids love it and i never have to ask him to suit up for parties.

Yeah today I was just so tired....ugh...and i got there at 8 to start salad...i hate salad...lol :)

yea in our store i haven't seen a road show since i got back in October. there's just not enough people because we have to keep labor down. i miss the ticket splashes sometimes though they were fun and the kids loved them.

yea today i was opening salad on 3 hours of sleep and of course i swore i was going to bed early tonight cause i have to do maintaince in the morning 7am ugg. and look at me still up.

Are you serious? I hate all these labor guides. They put so much pressure on me. Bday coordinator in our store is not supposed to have any parties but to SUPERVISE the showroom and parties. But no, they have to "keep labor down" So they put one, maybe two hostesses with me on a Saturday. So I have parties up the wazoo and so does my other hostess and they wonder why I am stressed?!?! Espcially when we are flipping parties every hour GrRRRR

Yeah that was me too with salad. I didnt even prep everything. I just preped anything that looked almost empty lol

no way a bday cordinator would never ever not have a party she'd have the most parties lol. but now we don't really have a coordinator one of the assistant managers is almost souly in charge of showroom. we don't flip parties by the hour though we have 2 hours and thats hard enough.

I love the way our gm has the store set up for first quarter jet is the manager in charge of mainly sr Liesbeth is in charge of mainly cash and shawn mainly gr so if theres an issue in any area everyone knows what manager to go to and it helps with communication alot more because they have a regular weekly manager meeting to discuss problems.

Wow really? Well...I guess in my store they want the bday coordinator to make sure that everything is running smoothly without having the stress of parties and making sure that all the hostesses are doing a good job and that if they need you they can get you without you worrying about your own party...does that make any sense? lol well our parties like all of them are 1 1/2 hours but like every hour we are flipping for the next party...

That is kind of cool. We kind of have that too. AOI managers...(area of impact) :)

yup i love the AOI especially since liesbeth is like my best friend and we are together mostly 24/7 at and away from work. its so cool that shes my aoi manager.

it works much better now with the aoi manager kind of acting like the b day coordinator we don't really need a coordinator now cause i call parties.

i feel like we are talking over a messenger we are having the fastest comentversation lol!
