So, I'm back from Abergavenny for this year, walking and drinking. I drove down this year, because the trains were dodgy on both arriving and leaving. So, I stopped off in Cheshire on the way down and drove the remaining 3 hours down the A49 on Saturday, arriving just after lunchtime, if memory serves. Afternoon spent in the pub playing darts and then kebabs for dinner.
Throughout the next week, I walked up all four peaks. In fact, there were only two of the eight who went who managed all the way up all four, so it's quite an accomplishment. Visit my
Facebook profile for further evidence of this last week's shenanigans. We tootled about the Black mountains, watched the (terrible) footy and bimbled along to Cardiff for some cocktails and fun times. Watched Black Death at the Kino, which I loved but everyone else found so-so. Go see it, people.
Back yesterday and slept like a baby. Well rested and today off work, so I get to go back tomorrow more rested than before. Also, my CRB check arrived back clean last week, so I can be Scouty without worrying about being within visual range - radical. I may also get to join the Cubs at Auchengillan in July. There is a 30th birthday to attend on the Saturday, so I may have to get creative with the arrangements. I doubt I can drink myself into cirrhosis and get up early to hit Scotland the next morning.
Dentist on Thursday. Radical. Also, pay day. Woo-hoo.
