So I went to see Harry...
On the whole I did like it but I was upset at some of the things that were missed out. I know the book is crazy long and so they had to cut things but they cut some of the BEST things and, more irritatingly, they changed some stuff too.
I was very disappointed that Snape's memory was truncated (we didn't get to see Lily standing up for him which is very important IMHO) and they showed this through occulomency rather than the pensieve.
And my favourite line from the whole book was omitted
. You know the one- Harry's fretting that perhaps his kissing technique isn't quite up to scratch and Hermione is trying to make him feel better and tells him there's nothing wrong with it and Ron says...
"How do you know?!"
.
It was nice and pacey though which was good to watch and I thought Luna Lovegood was especially well cast. But Harry didn't annoy me as he does in the books for being whiney and angry and pubescent which was both a good (he didn't bug me) and a bad (that's like most of the fifth book!) thing. And there was not enough of Tonks (she was barely introduced) and definitely not enough Snape. I love me some Alan Rickman.
And now I'm even more ridiculously excited about the book release than I was before.
I also got to see one of my best friends who I don't see anywhere near as often as I wish I did and for that I'd have waited ten times as long as I did at the station on Friday. And another evil man is in the process of breaking her heart. If I ever meet this guy I will... I will... well, it'll be very passive-aggressive but you get the picture.
I really must stop procrastinating, put some clothes on and cycle up the hill to return my damn library book.
