London's burning

Geez Camden town is on fire. It's headlining on the BBC news website and sounds pretty bad- there are over a hundred firefighters on scene. I hope everybody's okay.

I had a lovely day with my aunty and uncle. I showed them around a few colleges and other points of interest and we had lunch in The Eagle & Child which is where Tolkien and C.S. Lewis and others used to meet to talk writing and drink (predominantly the latter from what I can gather). Then we visited the new castle exhibition. I hadn't been before and I thought it was really good. Touristy things here are usually overhyped and overpriced but this broke the trend. My aunty and uncle are staying on a working farm where they were chastized by the landlady for not bringing wellington boots. I wonder if there's been a table making demonstration yet... or a dawn goose walk...

And I finally started scrapbooking :). I have loads of photos hanging around my room and although some are displayed most sit in a drawer and are only looked at occasionally so, during my revision, I decided that scrapbooking was the way to go. I've started with some of my pictures from Barcelona and it's really good fun. I've made a spanish flag from tissue paper and flip flops out of fimo and I even found my boarding card from the outbound flight.

And I'm currently having a text message conversation with Australia (not everyone in Australia...). Technology still astounds me sometimes.
