Briefly, I am so proud and glad I did this. It was massively rewarding and my immediate co-volunteers were all amazing people. We achieved a massive, awesome thing; both the con as a whole, and my department specifically. We had so many positive comments about the Exhibits Hall and several people said it was the best they'd ever seen and that we'd set a new bar. I nearly cried the first time I came down the stairs from the programme rooms during the day and saw the view of the whole thing happily running (this was about Saturday ;-).
Also I am not broken! Very happy.
Also very happy that SF fandom is making concrete progress on access, inclusivity, non-misogyny, not being arses, etc. and that the discussion around all this is (a) happening (b) happening quickly (c) largely happening civilly (d) having effects.
