Spent all the day on the Exhibits Hall preparing for move out.
Sold most of my jewellery but no books. Photos of all coming in due course (read: after I've done my masters assignment).
Got the shippers to take home all my heavy and awkward stuff for a measly £7. This made me happy all day. Bought one of the lovely lovely Culture ship name banners from the Dealers' tables (Cargo Cult) and quite a few more books.
Move out went spectacularly well (one problem aside; we think now fixed). We had masses of really helpful volunteers. Most stuff was down within 2 hours, and by 7 we were twiddling thumbs. We went down to the Fan Village to appreciate the green a bit more (best con social space I've ever been in) to find children chasing round a Prisoner balloon. Later I joined in a joyful communal bubble-wrap popping; it sounded like fireworks :-)
Came home via the fast line to St P and saw a E* zoom past whilst waiting. As we got into Cambridge and I stood up to leave (wearing a Loncon3 volunteer T-shirt) someone I didn't know said thank you and that it was awesome and this was his first con but he'd be back for more, which really made the day. (My Real Children was waiting for me when I got home, which also did :-)
There will probably be another Worldcon post when I tidy out my bags and find things I've forgotten!
