News from London

Apr 10, 2014 22:39

This weekend, I went to London, mostly to see khalinche off (via a complicated process involving Italian cafes and possibly the worst club in the world). However there was also a certain amount of progress made on life goals, and I have returned with:
  • an appointment to get a tattoo[*]
  • a chocolate fish
So exciting!

We also went to see Momentum at the Barbican, a mesmerising artwork made from computer-controlled pendulums which emit light (either a ring of light out sideways, or a spotlight downwards) and hum/crackle/clang. We spent a good half hour just appreciating the patterns. Very meditative. (On until 1st June, and highly recommended: http://www.barbican.org.uk/artgallery/event-detail.asp?ID=15620 )

[*] FAQ:

(1) A ring of pylons round my upper arm, based on this book that I made, but much less complex: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~clareb/photos/betweenthebooks/.slide_pylons_1.JPG

(2) 4th May
