Dear Yuletide Author

Squee! Okay, that's out of my system. Now down to the serious bidness of yuletidin'.

Most beloved Yuletide writer

American Idol RPF--I've been a Ryan/Simon shipper since about second season in. Sometimes I think they are bittersweet and angsty and trapped in love, sometimes I think they're sappy and happy and planning to settle down somewhere in ten years with a huge house full of dogs. I'd love them in a romantic comedy type story with the other judges along for the wacky hijinks. A/u is fine, canon world is fine--what ever works.

Monk Hmm, I think Yuletide last year is responsible for my Stottlemeyer/Disher shipping but once the idea was there it was easy to see. Their relationship is already a pretty strong one with paternal overtones that could be pretty hot turned in the right direction. If you can't manage that kink though, I think that they're both lonely and looking for something and they could easily find it in each other. I love the interaction between Natalie, Monk, Randy and the Captain and really enjoy watching them solve the case, so if you could work some of that in, that'd be terrific. (same as last years request, so technically it was a 2007 story that hooked me.)

RocknRolla We loved this movie so much we just hit play again after it ended and rewatched then and there. I pretty much adore the gang, and especially how everybodyknew Bob was gay and in love with Two Step except him. Plus a part of me thinks Bob and Two Step did more than one kind of dancing that night. We found the movie amazingly funny and bizarrely sweet on top of all the gratuitous language and violence so it'd be great if a little of that is included but really, I'm a sap and I just want Two Step to love Bob back, and for them to have a happy ending.

The Mentalist Cho!Cho!Cho! Um, okay I might be kinda sorta in love with Kimball Cho, his deadpan delivery and his gorgeous smile. I really enjoy the character interactions between the team and would love to see a case fic or something where they're all hanging out together, like their proposed picnic to the desert. But,but, but Cho/Jane is my heart's pairing. I love the dynamic between them--and how they seem the complete opposite on the surface but below they're both secret keepers.

I'm a happy ending kind of girl most of the time though I don't mind trouble along the way. I love cliches and old familiar tropes but I'm always excited about something new as well. So there ya go. Me in a nutshell(or is it nuthouse?) Anyway the most important thing is to have a good time, and write the fic you want to. I never look a gift fic in the mouth and I'll be happy with anything I get really. Yuletide is--like David Archuleta--made of Unicorns and Skittles and there just is no bad.
