About 3-4 weeks worth of eps

NCIS-Tibbs shippers Y? or Y?

okay, still think they're doing a good job with the relationship between Tony and his dad. Also seriously, again their Tiva is lame. So far the only people who have actively encouraged Tiva have been people with poor relationship judgement. I do wonder if that's on purpose. I'd like to think they were that smart/subversive but I doubt it.

I think they just suck at deliberate subtext. On the other hand, the 'accidental' Tibbs subtext keeps on rolling. First Tony refers to the headslaps and minimalist dining options and says something like 'it's more romantic than you think' which, hello, so far he's the only one that gets those. Then he practically stalks Gibbs ex to find out how she got Gibbs who he describes as a wild, untamed Savannah or some such.

I've generally liked the episodes but I did think Engaged was ridiculously heavy handed. Sure it was the Veteran's day ep, but I mean we get it, really we do. It was partially redeemed by the fact that the two Veterans that were highlighted were both POC and the main one was a woman. These are the types of things that make me give NCIS a pass on being a great show. It's a pretty good show that does one thing most shows don't. Acknowledge that the world is full of women and POC in all kinds of positions and situations, not just as the 'very special episode' stars.

NCIS:LA

Caught up on last 3 eps at once. Why you wanna kill my ship show? And in a really good(for you) episode?

So they get a pass on killing off Michael(yet another black male) because it was obvious in part II that the whole reason was that he was similar in looks to Sam. Now the thing is though, you can not fake death a major character these days. There's pretty much no way to hide that and it will be on line in some form so basically we all know that it's not Sam which ruins the tension anyway.

However, I think that is the first time I've seen Chris O'Donnell convincingly show multiple emotions in 3 years. The scene when he goes to identify the body worked beautifully. Which brings me to my little problem. I do not mess with people in committed relationships unless I can believe they would be okay with the other relationship so basically I cannot write Sam/G anymore unless it's a/u now that they've established Sam's wife. Which really sucks since the episode itself was extremely shippy.

I hate that. One because -duh, but also because it's pretty inconceivable that in 3 years he's never mentioned his wife to either G who clearly knows her or Hetty who I'm pretty sure would know about her even if she didn't know her. That makes it obvious they never could decided until this ep whether he was married or not. But they did such a beautiful job creating the kind of ep this show was meant to have all along. Sam was cold and at the end when he repeats the I love you to his wife, even while lying to her was chilling. G was cold, didn't care about the Sudanese, just about Sam. It was pretty much perfect.

Which made it sadder that the next episode was stupid and insulting. Kensi is a trained undercover agent but she can't pretend to be worried about Deeks? She has to be left out of the loop? This again is their problem. They can't do romance and they need to stop trying. It just comes off poorly. And yes, if you like flowers it's okay to order some for yourself. Hetty picks her own and puts a bouquet on her desk, why would they then imply that Nell would have to be embarrassed or ashamed of doing the same? Just stop, seriously. Let them fuck or whatever because you're not building UST you're building shame.

ncis:la, ncis, we're people too, shipkiller!
