But they happened - somewhere along the way, they happened, and now he has Jim Kirk all to himself and that's amazing. He doesn't know any better words for it, though he has wished he did. He has wished he read his mother's human novels so that he would know how to better describe this feeling. Jim says he's doing just fine, that he doesn't have to say it all the time to have Jim know it. So it's good, it's fine.
But it's not. It's not because it's been six months, and they've done - well, apparently, they've not done much. And what Spock thought was important and amazing and all that there was is, well, very much not.
