Okay, so I didn't want to update until I could do a Real Update, complete with music and recs, but I don't feel like waiting for YSI to upload my songs on my crappy dialup connection, so, some other time.
Uh, Happy Valentines Day kids. If you didn't know, there are some new free downloads at
http://www.guillemots.com/ , good stuff too, not just the freaky windowpane type songs O.o Also, if you like yaoi you should get an account at
http://yaoi.y-gallery.net/ excellent, excellent site if you enjoy fanart (mostly of anime/manga or original characters but some hp too), and women are expressly forbidden from any of the images, though all ratings are acceptable (you can only see them all once you've signed up--it's free, naturally). I recommend Korone at
http://yaoi.y-gallery.net/user/korone/ for sheer "adjigidifiguh" and *speechless and gibbering* quality.
*ahem* I'M GOING TO IRELAND THIS SUMMER FOR THREE WEEKS. Hee, I'm just a little excited, can you tell? I'm going with my mom and maybe my grandmother as a sort of last hurrah before college. I shall be so close to you guys, and yet so far ;_;
Now I'm gonna do one more of these freaking quizzes, and that will complete my introduction to LJ:
- big bad voodoo daddy:
Swing band, very nice music, my favorite is definitely "Maddest Kind of Love", it's slow and seductive and just oh so slightly arrogant in a way that makes me melt. - revving remus' engine:
Shoebox love ^.^ I finally gave in and started to print it out...and put it in a binder... in those little plastic sheets. Yeah. I just can't help it, its too good. - feeling ummm:
Kind of a private joke. A friend of mine has a section of her music list titled this and I laughed and mocked and then thought, "hey, that actually makes sense." - hippie/native american nicknames:
The Shipping News got me started on this one, the daughters' names are Bunny and Sunshine, their mother's is Petal, and she once had a conversation about how she should have been named 'Spike' or somesuch to fit her personality. And then of course there is the shoebox reference 'Blinded By Exhibitionist Boys' I think it was. Overall a good choice, everyone should have one. I think 'She Who Smirks' works best for me. - lola ray:
Punk band, good music even if I'm a tad disappointed with their newest cd. Still, "What It Feels Like" is a kick-ass song if ever there was one. - oubliettes:
Labyrinth reference all the way, baby. They're places for things to go for people to forget about them. - saiyuki:
Sweet, sweet manga. I only own one, but it is fan-fucking-tastic, and only goes to seven...? I think. But seriously, four guys on a journey to save the world, and a hermaphrodite Kwan Yin, good stuff. - spiral shells:
Those little swirly shells that you find 1 in every 10000 other shells? Yeah, they're my favorites. - the moon:
Come on, if you don't get this one, your inner poet is dead. - waves:
Live by the beach, soothing, meditative, asthetically pleasing, etc., etc.
