Being back in London/watford/northwood for the last couple if days (I'm on the train back up to York at the moment) has had me thinking. You know the baz luhrman song "sunscreen" and the line "live in new York city once, but leave before it makes you hard. Live in northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft"

I think you could change this for the English (or just me) by changing New York to London and Northern California to York.

I mean, I wasnt hard when I lived in London, but being in York for 2 years has softened me up a little more. It's not like I'm a stranger in London, but I feel a little foreign, to this extent I'm quite happy to be living in London next year. It was great to see everyone, and it was good to know people don't love me any less for being lame at keeping in contact, although I still feel bad snout it - its not like I don't have 2 minutes to send someone a message on facebook.
