The Return

Oh how it has been a while, but long days at work with either nothing to do or nothing you want to do will do crazy things to you, thus my return to live journal. There are all sorts of ways I could educate you today, so I must pick and choose. As always, not that you remember what always was like, but this entry will speak of music. It's just what I do. So first, The Fire Theft. Why rock radio never gave them some serious love I will never know. It is usually things of such genius that are overlooked by the radio, but I kinda thought that was the geniusness of this album, it is brilliant and beautiful but at the same time some of it could be widely appealing. Who am I though? Thats not retorical I will answer that for you, I am the authortity and you should listen. Second, while we are on the subject of the radio, I have a question about the "punk" music they play. Let's be honest, no matter if you have double timed the drums through out the whole song it cant be punk if its mainstream. That stuff is all over the radio. Punk is an attitude and a fight against something. Im not sure what alot of these folks are fighting now. Granted there are some really good punk bands still out there, but they are fighting the crap you hear all over the radio. Punk and emo, hahaha, arent those just the catch phrases of the last 5 years. I havent read the article, but a certain Atlanta publication has the headline on the cover, Country: The New Punk. My first thoughts after reading that were "My isnt that intellegent". Lets first clear up they arent speaking of Kenny Chesney. I think they might be speaking of something like one of Bright Eyes latest release, I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning. I know front man Conor Oberst is the "emo" poster boy, but he has managed to make a dang good country album. Enough about music, but school isnt over yet.

So I am getting paid to do this right now. I also got paid to play solitare for a few hours. God Bless America.

The third thing that you should note comes from an experience I had at work today. So I was brought a VHS and was asked to duplicate it, so upon doing this I noticed it was a Gadsden, AL high school reunion. All I will say about it is if you participate in something like this, please for the love of all that is good and holy dont pay for the official video scrapbook. Those are memories better kept in the past. Take it from me someone who watched a moment of this, your kids dont need to know that part of you. Not that I am too far above it being a South Slobber, but above it none the less.

I really want BBQ for lunch. I guess I have spent long enough on this. It was quite the extensive return.
