For me, I think I always hold onto dreams way too long.
For instance, my dream of going to culinary art school. I still feel that it is a distinct possibility that I will go, but I am having to deal with other things before I can even begin to save money for that. It is a dream I never plan on giving up. When it comes to money, I don't tend to have dreams that I don't feel I can accomplish. I know that one of these days, I will be able to afford the things I want, no matter how long that takes.
Usually, the dreams I should give up on, but don't, are personal relationship-based. I have very high expectations of what a relationship should be, and it's not just the other person, it is how I act in the relationship as well. How we will react to situations, how we communicate, how we treat eachother, how much attention and effort is put into the relationship. Unfortunately, before I give up on a relationship before I ever give up on the dream of a perfect one. I just feel that somewhere out there, there is a person whom I will be compatible with enough to have that perfect relationship.
That may be silly, but I'm silly, and have always been a dreamer. I guess I am not helping you much because it seems from your entry and ones previous to it that you are planning on giving up on something you have wanted or wanted to do for whatever reason. My personal advice, and it may not be what you are looking for, but my advice is to never give up on dreams, because they are always achievable. It may take a little more time to save up for it, or it may just have to wait until you are at a point in your life when you can accomplish it without it interefering with other aspects of your life, but I think that anything is possible.
