So there I was, face to face with a giant kodiak bear- and the only thought going throug my head was... where's my Snicker's? wait... that's not right- hold on.
Ok, So There I was- Crawling through the bodies of the most crowded Mosh pit I've ever laid witness to. You couldn't lift your hands out of the pit without a struggle. Sandles were strewn about the place from all the girls who thought they'd be ok wearing only them to protect their toes. little did they know I came equipped with Steel Toes... and I knew how to use them.
Motion City Soundtrack was 3rd on stage, and they put on a pretty good show, but I'm picky- they sounded better on CD. They were lively I'll give them that!
I was about 4 people from stage by the time Fall Out Boy came up on stage, and It was just by luck that I FINALLY found Scotty and Matt. Chosa couldn't get up any farther. Scotty was 1 wall of people ahead of me, and There was no way I was going to be able to get to him. I was center Stage when they came out. and I was elated, until! From out of the blue: Enter The Creature from the Black Latrine- Hamilton, has had about 12 beers. This man has had over a gallon of alcohol. and his breath smells heavily of cheap beer. Hamilton is apparently a ver loquacious drunk to, because he is talking to anyone who will listen.
It reminded me of "Charmless Man" by Blur. But I'm nice to him, I just can't take the smell of his breath. Eventually he back out a bit- he was hanging out with the people he came with. about 2 songs into their set, I can't remember which song it was anymore- but the guy that was at their shirt stand comes out on stage and starts moshing around with the band members. They're all having tons of fun out on stage... anyway- the guy Jumps off the stage and into the crowd.
I say into the crowd, it was more along the lines of... ON MY Face, he gets caught, but I get a face full of Hoodie from him. Fun times! I just got Stage Dived on by some roadie. That's cool- surely it won't happen again
3 songs later, it's near the end of their set, but we're rocking out. Pete Wentz (bassist) Is on our Side, and Takes a stage dive during one of the songs (It was from Under The Cork Tree, but I once again, can't remember which) Once again, Face full of Sweaty band member... WTF! 2 in one show? They were aiming for me! I had to get out of their!
So I decided being right up next to the stage wasn't as fun as I thought it'd be. I went back to hang out with some people I waited in line with, they were cool- they were from North Carolina, some school up there. Bought an Album from some Band from New Zealand because it was like 8 bucks. I like the Brunettes- but these guys don't sound like them... imagine that.
Went home that night, had to Jam out to The Faint to keep myself awake for the car ride... got lost for a bit in Downtown Charleston, but all I did was miss a turn.
Anyway- all in all it was an awesome experience. And it's got me totally into Panic at The Disco!
I can't wait for this Weekend... Going to see Yellowcard! (Shut up- I like them... I know what you're thinking)
I have more stories... Tons of stuff happening lately.
I'l post another now and I have 2 more.
