The Robert Rodriguez School of Filmmaking

-I want to do a a short film that takes place and is shot in New Mexico. However the problem is(other than money)is that I don't really have an idea...so I look around for what resources I have.
-I have a friend with a motorcyle. Cool, cool. Motorcycles are cool.
-I have horses. Cool, cool. Horses are cool.
-If I was Steven King, that would be enough material for a 600 page novel already and would probably include a demonic rodeo horse soul reincarnated into a motorcycle. Forget "Christine" and forget "Maximum Overdrive" this will be "Maximum Chris...nevermind.
-UGH!
-I heard from someone that last year at the Taos Film Festival there were no local submissions and that most of them were from USC film school. Then I hear about the Governor's film festival thingy and I think to myself, Am I not in film school? Could it be possible for me to make a decent film locally and submit it to local festivals and get on the road to building a local name for myself other than long blonde jerk?
-The answer to that is money, but I only have so much blood and I won't even dabble in the sperm biz.
-Hmmm, Robert Rodriguez voulenteered for scientific experimentation to fund his first movie.
