Have been house hunting for the past week, as the owners are coming back in September, our rent is going up and we can't get rid of Steven. Louise and I have had a look at a few places and are pretty confident about getting something soon. The current lease ends on Friday but we can have a periodical until late August if we need it.
Health issues if you're interested:
* Depression: have discontinued the Escitalopram due to messing with my sleeping patterns. Have a new script for Sertraline which I will start once things settle down a bit. In the mean time, dealing with the depression the alcoholic (and fun) way. Enjoying my ability to orgasm again.
* Eyesight: gradually getting worse, finding it difficult to focus on anything for extended amounts of time. I predict that within the next 12 months I will no longer be able to read more than a few large print lines.
* Post nasal drip: ENT says nothing can be done for the excessive mucus, however a septoplasty will help me breathe a lot better, and the improved nasal airflow will probably help dry the mucus. It's an extremely unpleasant procedure and I want to get a second opinion before going ahead with it.
* Back pain: have been for a few adjustments at the chiropractors and feeling great! No more back strain and neck aches, which has relieved the tension headaches and restless leg syndrome. Sleeping much better as a result.
My first beer brew didn't go so well. I poked the grommet in too far and it fell into the fermenter, and as a result couldn't get an airtight seal. The brew became infected and tastes horribly sour. It's my first so I'm allowed to fuck up though. I will pour the 20+ bottles onto the garden, as the yeast makes good fertiliser apparently. Will try again once I move.
Studies aren't going so well. Being off the meds I have fallen back into the non-motivated slackers mode and have trouble concentrating on anything. Have to work really hard to finish ITE2 by the end of the month, I doubt I will get CCNA2 finished in that time so I will extend that over semester 2 along with my software development certificate. Also hoping to have enough time to volunteer at the children's centre at the Association for the Blind on weekends.
I have rebuilt the RAID array in the server as I am removing the 1TB hard drive and want to just use a single array over the 1.5TB drives instead of two. When I need extra space I can just add extra 1.5TB drives in and expand the whole thing. Developing a complicated love/hate relationship with Linux, the more I learn the harder it gets and frustrates me, sometimes I find myself wishing I was running Windows but I come to my senses soon after.
