Well, I have averaged spending about $100.00 a day for the last 6 days. I am now broke. Incredibly broke.
I left home last Sunday at 9:30, drove to Lansing, drove to Ann Arbor, and then drove for a long time. The first night we made it to Radford which was pretty sweet. The next day we made it to Pageland, SC which was the ultimate destination.
I interviewd at Pageland High School for the high school choir director job. The interview went incredibly well!
The next day we just kidna chilled around the Chester area, hoping they would call me for an interview. They finally called on Wednesday about four hours after we had decided to leave. I ended up doing a phone interview with the principal, which also went very well. However, we did not just turn around and head north. Instead of just going home, we went by way of Kentucky.
We had joked around about going to Mammoth cave, and then decided we should actually do it. It wasn't much out of the way in terms of mileage. Mammoth cave was pretty sweet, we took a two hour hike.
After that we drove back to Michigan. I got to Lansing at about midnight and have been pretty much exhausted ever since. Last night I went to the BNL concert at DTE - it was absolutely incredible. Unfortunately, I got myself in to a funk about halfway through and had to work hard to bring myself back out. I got to hear a lot of songs that I have really loved listening to for a long time.
This road trip has ended up signifying the end of my unemployment. I was offered the job in Pageland and I am taking it. I am more excited about it than I seem right now, I am just exhausted from driving roughly 2500 miles in the last week. Peace.
