A Mixed Bag

I think Paul has made it to Bucharest...I think. I haven't heard from him yet. I'm trying not to obsess about it. With Paul leaving Sunday, this weekend was a mixed bag of emotions. Friday night we went to the neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant with friends. Trish, aquarium friend from the neighborhood, has been having a tough time at work with a bad manager. So, I'm trying to spend some QT with her.

Saturday Paul and I enjoyed some HGTV and set out to shop for the final items needed for his trip. We got a new digital camera for cheap at Wal-Mart, ear plugs, an outlet converter (which Paul left at home), a blanket and those kinds of things. The rest of the afternoon we worked on homework and articles (me), cleaned the house and enjoyed dinner in. We watched "Junebug" and it was ok, but it had a disappointing ending. Not much of a point to the movie.

Sunday we both had the travel jitters. It's been some time since Paul has traveled this far and he's never flown over the Atlantic. It's also the first time in five or so years that we have not been in contact with each other. (this is the part I don't like) We went to Goldberg's for an awesome breakfast and then headed up to finish up packing. I picked up the second book in the Sookie Stackhouse series (I hadn't read much since the Tybee trip). And, then it was time for me to drive Paul to the airport. I'm really excited for him, very nervous for him and sad to see him go without me. Our goodbye at the airport was quick and of course I cried. I heard from him just as he was boarding the plane yesterday at 3-ish.

Thankfully I had a full Sunday to enjoy. I scored free tickets to see Chicago at the Fox with Trish. And, then there was the True Blood finale. I kept myself busy until showtime with a walk with Piper and more reading. The show was great--not ab fab. Jerry Springer played Billy Flynn and he didn't suck as much as I expected. Loved the songs, but I wanted more dancing.
True Blood--I stayed up to watch the replay--was good, but not as amazing as the first season. I did enjoy it and I'd like to see the ep again, though.

I finally hit the hay at 1-ish, which leaves me pretty tired and groggy today. And, I don't have time to be in this condition. I actually need to be productive. I predict it will be a caffeine fueled day.
Monday is off to a shaky start--I left my purse at home. I was carrying my laptop bag and a fern for my desk and just forgot it. So, I'm driving without a license and one of my coworkers will have to cover my lunch (I don't think that will be a problem).
