The BBC has remade Sherlock for the 21st century, and he's adorable, with his scarves and his website and his texting. Quite frankly, it would've had to be pretty atrocious for me to hate it, but I'm glad it's not. My major source of disappointment is that it's only three episodes long (why, why, why?!) which isn't nearly enough time to really explore the Holmes universe. There may or may not be more episodes in the future--as far as I've heard, it hasn't been confirmed.
One thing they've accomplished by having so few episodes is that I now feel properly motivated to go watch Doctor Who, which is a fandom I've skirted around a half dozen times for various reasons--no time to catch up on it, or I've been intimidated by the sheer size and dedication of the fanbase, or just lacked interest. Thanks to the magical interwebz, I've watched the first episode already. I'm trying to take it slowly, though. No more massive binges of television that I've been guilty of in recent years. Slow and steady wins the race, right?
So in addition to Doctor Who, I still need to catch up on seasons 2-4 of Eureka, 5-10 of CSI, and Torchwood's Children of Earth while also keeping up with current episodes of shows I'm already watching/will be watching in the fall, including White Collar, Warehouse 13, Psych, Haven, Covert Affairs, Rizzoli & Isles, Leverage, Burn Notice, Supernatural, House (probably), Chuck (maybe), Glee, Castle, and a handful of new shows. Can someone just pay me to do this already?
