Sick, Bra

Around mile marker 337 on Highway 101, a bit south of Gold Beach, Oregon there are a series of pull offs for Meyers beach or point or something like. And on that beach are many big rocks, 30 and 40 feet high, and there among those rocks, to the south, is one skinny yet wide, close to the road, above the tide, wherein lies the best bouldering I've had this week.

On the southwest side the wind pulls around the sand to form a pillowy dune for your pad. Above the pillow, some rock to entertain you a while. Like everything on these beaches, much of it will break, but where it doesn't, and where you fingers can cope with the extremely rough rock, you will find some good traverses and problems to while away some time as the sun sets beside you and a sea lion swims nearby and the gulls fly and the horizon stretches on to infinity.
