update:
today everyone up here at the NSO went down the mountain to white sands. so immediately i felt 100% recharged and chock full of oxygen.
all this solar physics stuff is extremely fascinating but i dont think its the route i want to go. too much data, too much observation.
we have some pretty huge names up here, including the legendary gene parker who more or less theorized the existence of solar wind and arguably should have a noble prize. hes giving a 2 part lecture to us tomorrow on solar magnetohydrodynamics, so im looking forward to that. but mostly im looking forward to coming back home. i get homesick too quickly
