When researching places to stay way back in May I borrowed
Pauline Frommer’s Paris from the library and it quickly became my favorite guide out of all the ones I have looked at. In the guide there was a section on unusual places to stay and there we found

I popped into your LJ and was delighted to see that you'd just returned from France and were posting photos! I hope you had a wonderful time ... can't wait to read about it! (I'm a big fan of France myself!)

We really liked the area that it is in. It's a pretty quiet neighborhood, not many tourists, but it has a few good restaurants and an awesome bakery and is walking distance from Gare de Lyon. There are actually like five metro stops within walking distance so that's pretty nice.

it's not a matter of being civilized or not. And I do find rude such a commentary, though I'm not French.It's quite simple: in many European countries, shower heads are low, because many people have a shower with the shower head in their hand. It's quite practical, you know? If we want to shower sometimes, without washing the head, it's not a good idea to have it fixed above our head.
