Snow and Halloween

Oct 31, 2005 09:21

We got our first stick-to-the-ground snow on Saturday. Scott and I were on our way back from the supermarket when I looked out the window of the car and said, "Ick! I think a bird just pooped on the car. Oh wait. That's snow."

Scott proceeded to deny that snow was falling until there was a nice blanket of white on the ground. He still insists that I hallucinated the whole thing. But since fes42 posted a picture I'm guessing that I was right and he was wrong.

Thankfully the weather has warmed up for the trick-or-treaters today. It's going to be sunny and 65! Strange for Halloween in New England.

Yesterday I hurried to finish my costume. I bought all the materials weeks ago, but left everything for the last minute (of course). I'm a monkey this year, so I made myself a nice prehensile tail and cute ears (yes, with my sewing machine!). Then I pinned a felt "belly" onto my brown top. Personally, I think I look pretty monkey-ish. But one of my co-workers had a hard time figuring out what I am. "Are you a giraffe?" Ugh.

I'm just hoping to make it through today. I've had a sore throat for a couple days and then yesterday I just crashed (asleep by 7:30pm - early even *with* the time change). Now I'm sniffly, sneezy, cough-y and I just want to sleep. Halloween story time is 1-2pm - I can fall apart afterward.

Happy Spooky Day, everyone!
