Happy frigid afternoon to you all!
I'm still trying to regain feeling in my fingers after having Mr. Wind bite at them this morning. I was on "Newspaper Recovery Duty" for the library since pretty much everyone is down with the winter sinus bug. That means I trudged across the city square in the sub-zero windchill with a pile o' papers. Thankfully I was off-desk for the morning and could attempt re-warming with a cup of tea.
Despite a constant hunger that's been gnawing at me, I'm quite chipper today. Perhaps it's working on some fun YA programs or the extra twenty minutes of sleep last night. Whatever the cause, I'm happy to bask in the feeling.
The weekend....well, like all weekends, it went by too fast. Before I had a chance to truly realize it was here it was nearly gone. Oh well.
Highlights
- Spending time with the boy
- Super-huge, pretty-cheap scallops for dinner (Scott: "They're extra big because they're from Costco")
- Funny people at Blockbuster
- Idiocracy's "Museum of Fart" and "Starbucks"
- Making sweet Chex mix for the Super Bowl party
- Having lunch and taking in a movie (Dreamgirls) with my library school friends
- Trader Joe's!
- Laughing like a crazy person at Super Bowl commercials and Prince's pointy appendage
Lowlight
(yes, only one)
- Listening to guys, during the Super Bowl, come up with flavors for "Man Yogurt" (samples: buffalo chicken & bleu cheese with celery chunks, mashed potatoes and gravy, mom's meatloaf)
All in all, a good weekend!
Edit: Another reason to be happy...today's Tuesday. And you know what that means. Veronica Mars!
