Point to self: Save fic updates in the same document

Nov 10, 2010 01:03

So, I'd written some (actually, quite a lot) on my NaNovel during breaks at work on Friday. I was planning on either e-mailing the document to myself, or to upload it to my server. Did I? Noooo. *headdesk* So I wrote all my updates in individual documents and added the word count in them to the word count on the NaNo website.

Today I planned on e-mailing myself the document from work. Did I? Nooo. *repeated headdesk*

So I found myself stuck with a document with 2,000 words less than my word count on the website.... >.< I've managed to write some new stuff, and I think I've figured out where the missing words are - in a printout from work. So I'm going to have to go through a 10+ page document to see if I can locate the words that are not already written in the document I had at home. Which would have been easy if I'd written the additions in bold or something. Did I? Nooo. *another headdesk*

But I'll get it done somehow. I like the story and the characters, and I've managed to reach 50,000 words on novels before. I even have more ideas, but that's going to have to wait. I should have been in bed hours ago....

fail, writing, nanowrimo
