Like I said to turps33, I feel like a stupid sourpuss because I can't get FF3 to look like that at all, I lost all my bookmarks (though I found the last update from FF2 and will be able to reinstall them manually), and LJlogin doesn't work with FF3 so switching between journals will be a huge hassle again.... I ended up going and it was quite alright (though I'm sure my determination to have fun helped)...but I do have some other issues which I have no idea how to deal with.... *more meh*
