Happy Lucia Day everybody! I overslept but saw the rerun of the Lucia celebration on TV at 4 pm instead.... And while I didn't have any gingersnap cookies I did have saffron buns and julmust, and that's really all I need. :-D
Dad's been here, and my car is fixed now. Turns out one of the doors in my car didn't close all the way, causing the "OMG a door is open!" light to shine all the time and ultimately sucking the battery dry. *shakes head* Mormor's been here too, and now I have Christmasy curtains in my bedroom window. :-)

I have so many favorites, but on top of the list this year is the hilarious Christmas medley by Straight No Chaser.

I travel the distance of less than 10 miles to my sister's house.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeers?
Nope. But I can tell you that they come from Finnmark in northern Norway. In the late 1800s, 500 reindeer and some Saamis moved to Alaska in an attempt to
teach the Inuit how to care for reindder. But eventually they ended up in a commercial for reindeer meat. In 1926, six reindeer pulled an akja (sleigh) down
a Seattle street in front of about 10,000 people. One of the Finnmark Saami led the small rajd (caravan) - in the sleight sat Santa Claus with loads of
gifts. It became a success which toured across the US and (befäste) the image of Santa and reindeer in the big American Christmas celebration. To this day,
this metaphor is used by major companies such as Coca-Cola and Walt Disney, even though the Saamis aren't part of it anymore.
