"The cripple boys. We should start a band."

Well, I survived the Die Hard night! Although I did doze off a couple of times, usually just for a second...the second one was almost impossible to stay awake to!

Speaking of movies, my birthday presents from joe1970 finally arrived! *curses Swedish customs for charging me* He got me Memento (SQUEE!!!) and the first two seasons of House (SUPERSQUEE!!!!!)!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, sweets! :-D

The performance at the art show on Thursday went really well! My faith in my own ability is restored. :-)

Yesterday was quite a long day. I started off with withdrawing some money at the gas station before going to Öjeby kyrkmarknad, and while there I was approached by two women who tried to sell me a gold ring in the parking lot. O.o Well, the station manager saw this on the surveillance monitor and came out. He called the cops and asked me if I wanted to stay and testify. I didn't, and there were other witnesses there too, so I didn't have to.

So I went to the fair, and halfway there it started raining cats and dogs...but I didn't want to turn back, and when I arrived it wasn't raining so heavily anymore. I ended up getting a free book at ABF, listened to Birgitta Öster from Stenstugan explaining how she makes her jewelery, and bought gáhkko and donuts as is customary. :-) Because of the bad weather, there weren't too many people there, and I got to town with some time to spare before Sofia's game (part of Piteå Summer Games, Sweden's second largets soccer cup if you count the number of teams) began. Öjebyn lost with 0-1, and Sofia was tackled and injured her ankle. Not severely, though, which was a relief.

Oh, and speaking of Sofia, she won last week's Impossible is Nothing competition, so thank you for voting! I'm not sure how the competition progresses now; I'll have to check with mammamuh. As I understand, voting continues, though.

Anyway, after the game I sat with mammamuh's family and had burgers before it was time for the parade (there are about 700 teams, and there are at least 10 players on each team...so you can imagine how many people are in town this week!), and the ambulance arrived to pick someone up. I haven't found any details on it, and it might have been a false alarm.

Once Sofia's team (Öjeby IF) had arrived after the parade, they went home while I went into town since it was midnight shopping. I love that concept! I was planning on watching a movie, but there weren't any interesting ones playing last night, so after going around for a while (and purchasing a book that a foreign correspondent has written about Americans) I went home. Vanilla Sky and Soul Man had arrived in my inbox (Life of Brian will arrive soon, too) along with a Triss scratch lottery ticket (no win) from a research company and a spoon I got for sending in a recipe to a sugar company. I love mail days like that. :-)
