I like the attention, to be honest....

Last night, approximately two hours after sundown, Bahá'ís all around the world celebrated the Declaration of the Báb (arabic for 'Gate') - the Messenger of God Who spoke of the coming of Bahá'u'lláh and thus was the beginning of the Bahá'í Faith. :-)

That night, the eve of the fifth day of Jamádiyu'l-Avval, in the year 1260 A.H. [1844 . E.], corresponded with the eve preceding the sixty-fifth day after Naw-ruz, which was also the eve of the sixth day of Khurdad, of the year Nahang. "This night," He declared, "this very hour will, in the days to come, be celebrated as one of the greatest and most significant of all festivals. Render thanks to God for having graciously assisted you to attain your heart's desire, and for having quaffed from the sealed wine of His utterance. `Well is it with them that attain thereunto.'"
-- The Dawn-Breakers p.62

He was martyred in July 1850, and His remains are now buried on Mount Carmel in Haifa, Israel.

The Bahá'í World Center is now located on Mount Carmel in Haifa.

Our gig this morning went really well. Some people who have the power to close us down or make sure we get to continue were there, and it was nice to hear that some of them really liked what they saw and heard. :-) We got water and a gift certificate to the movies (I'm gonna go and see X3), so I'm happy. :-)

After that I stopped by art class, and was told to come to City Hall tomorrow morning with two paintings for an exhibition...and I ended up making a charcoal drawing for the flyers, too! *grins*

Since I'm sleepy and have to get up early again tomorrow, I'm gonna go to the livingroom for a while and then go to bed early....

singing, bahá'í faith, movies, drama class
