Last night I got to try snowboarding for the first time. Jess and i went and took lessons together through the school. Our instroctor wasn't to bad. He could be kind of ignorant to Jess at a point. First he taught us to go flat on our boards and to stop and slow down by pickign your toes up. The high you pike your toes up the slower you go untill you stop. The hard thing about that is to not fall backwards as your toes are up. He todl me and jess to not go in the nice ice patch that was on the side of the slope so what do I do? I go into the ice patch fall and slide half way down the mountain on ym stomach because I couldn't stop on the ice. The ski lift was intresting to get off of you jsut keep one foot in the binding and the other foot goes in the middle of the board like your skateboarding. I fell getting off the ski lift and there like duck and I go oh crap my head adn ducked. But I didn't get hit with it. Then our lesson was over and we were alone on the mountain well not alone but alone in the sence that the instructor wasn't with us anymore. So we continued to go down the beginer slope. When you fall with a snowboard you are goign to fall on 1 of 4 places your knees, stomach, wrists/hands, or butt. If your like me when you fall forward and put yoru wrists out it can be painful not that falling on your knees isn't as equally painful but you have to use yoru hands to push yoru weight up to get back up after you fall. Then lonnie convinced me and Jess to go down Mombo and I wasn't so sure about it becasue if the beginer slope was ice I thought that mombo would be worse btu I did better on mombo then I had done all night on the beginer slope. I improvised with the ski lift by taking my board off and jsut walking off the ski lift. After we were done snowboardign we came in a got food and by that time I had fallen about 18 million times. The majority of them on my hands and my butt if your like me you tend to stuck yrou hands out to try adn soften the fall and I don't believe its the best thing to do. So I haev nice burises on ym bakc/butt and on my knees from falling on them as well. And today at swimm pratice we did the dirty douzine which is you swimm across the pool and do one sit up and one push up then you swim back and do two of each adn then go back and do three and so on untill you do al twelve. Let me tell you how good my wrists and bruises on my back/butt felt after that. Tara agrees with me that it wasn't that great (swimm pratice) The funny thing is the only thing that is really sore is like my sides like from my waste up my arms and wrists/hands. But it was totally worth it and was so much fun!! Well that is pretty much the extent of my first snowboardign expodition. Well I don't think there is anythign else really intresting to tell you so night.
