Week 50 theme

Jan 27, 2006 22:00

Holy crap. It's week 50. It is... week 50. you know what that means? Yeah, we're halfway to 100! Wait a minute here, that doesn't mean this is relevant at all! It's just a BENCHMARK! Well, it's a big benchmark. Ha ha to everybody else, it's MY WEEK! So, because it's a benchmark, we're taking a cue from akamatsu_awards and doing two themes this week. Sorry, no image for you!

Theme One: Community Icon
For theme one, icons must be related to Cardcaptor Sakura and have CCS_AWARDS or some variation (cardcaptor sakura awards, ccs_awards, etc) on it. Arguably, every community needs its own icon, right? This icon is used as the default placeholder for all contests. You know the icon that we use in the examples on submission day? Yeah, that's what this'll be used for. It might also be used as the community's default icon, but the mods'll have to get together for a talk on that one, won't we?

Theme two: Pairs
Yes, the ever-popular icon pair theme has made a return! For this theme, submit two icons that go together as a set. Now, this doesn't mean that they have to be put together to form a 'complete icon' (but you can still do it that way if you'd like), but keep in mind that both icons must be able to stand well ON THEIR OWN. They must be at least related in both style and substance to each other. Don't worry, you don't have to use the same character in both icons.

Of course, because we have two themes, everyone is allowed to enter twice. However, you may only make one pair and one community icon. So that we don't end up with a million pairs and two community icons, this theme will be extended if there is a shortage of entries for theme one. No entering the same theme twice. Remember- this is a special theme. Rules this week may not carry over to others.

Rules and guidelines
-Icons must be no larger than 100x100 pixels or 40kb in size. In other words, they must be compatible for LJ.
-No crossposting or sharing your icon before the contest is FULLY completed. Until that results post is up, we'd better not find your icon floating around your journal or anywhere else.
-Try to respect individual artist or resource maker's guidelines. While it's not necessary that you credit every brush, texture, or gradient used, we do appreciate this information as it helps our banner people better match your style.
-If using a foreign language on your icon, PROVIDE A TRANSLATION. Those who submit an icon with foreign text on it without providing a translation will first be warned. If no action is taken by the time voting is posted, the icon will be disqualified. Icons with gibberish text in a foreign language will no longer be tolerated.

All icons must be submitted in the following format:
