So long sweet summer
Well, as if I wasn't bummed about today already... I get kind of sick of people making fun of me sometimes... I mean everyone does. But that's ok, I will just look to the bright side of things.
Anyways, in 6th period we were doing a lab, and no one was actually trying to work except for me, and that was annoying. I am also in a bad mood because this is not my best week, if you know what I mean.
So, when I returned from school, my mom went outside to get the mail. When she came in saying, "Allison!", I expected it to be a college recruiting package or something, but no... it was that long awaited letter from Baylor College of Medicine- the letter that would tell me if I got into the summer research program (which pays $1800) or not.
Turns out... BCM didn't hire any high school students for the summer because they ran out of grant money! They could have told me that before I wasted weeks of time, not to mention my teachers' time, working on that application. This is the second time I have been screwed due to a lack of grant funding. The first time would be Space Camp, and we all know how that worked out.
Anyways, I am a little disappointed. Oh well, I get to be a lifeguard and get tan... and skin cancer! Ha. I guess it was for the best. Maybe another time.
Districts is next week. Exciting.
