Woo-hoo. Just got off the phone with the bank - been APPROVED for the mortgage. So... that's it. Done deal. This nightmare* looks like it's coming to an end.
Was chasing around town this morning changing the solicitor we were using for conveyancing, due to the first one we selected being unsuitable for our purposes. Think I've got that sorted now.
Thank you friends for your congratulations, comments, advice, support over the last few days. A few people I owe emails to, others will not have seen me around at my usual times. This has been the most stressful week of my life since I was trying to get New Zealand residency in 2005. I've been in my cocoon. But, once the dust is settled, I'll be back. With a HOUSE no less.
* Yes, nightmare. It may be our dream home, but it's been a lot of sleepless nights until this point. The process was more complicated than I had bargained for, and yet still relatively straightforward compared to what some people go through no less!
