Feels as if I've just given birth from my brow; Voegelin was right about the structure of Socratic philosophy and "The Republic", the crazy S.O.B. The entire dialogue is the divided-line writ large: the city is the man in his being towards Being writ large. The foundation of science is not simply Socratic: it's Delphic. "Gnwthi seauton!"
