Monday, monday...

I'm now back from the celebration feast in honour of the parinirvana of the Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche; essentially, a great bit of chanting and eating, broken up by a video tour of the commemorative exhibit on permanent display at the museum in Halifax, and of the ceremonies hosted by the Sakyong, and the elder Sakyong Wangmo -- complete with interviews. When the hyper-links to the videos (which have been uploaded onto YouTube) get sent out, I ought to try to remember to link them here.

Today was the last of my Monday discussion groups, and it ended in a fairly decent bang, I think. Some review, some generous lambasting of Marx and other millenarian revolutionaries, topped with a general overview of the structural differences between classical philosophy, Christianity and Judaism, on the one hand, and modern philosophy and ideology, on the other.

V. is apparently back in town, and fresh from an unfortunate encounter with a jellyfish, somewhere in India. It'll be interesting to see whether any of his students can get their grades on time, now. D.K. is likely being pecked to death by students desperate to know their marks from last semester.
