In New York for Thanksgiving, here through early Monday. Not sure if I have any unscheduled time (and if I do, some people, like my blood relatives, have first dibs), but may be worth pinging.

JetBlue runs two red-eye flights per night from Las Vegas McCarran to JFK. I was booked on the later one, but squeezed onto the earlier one off the ( Read more... )

I haven't gotten to ride a train yet, but I'm certainly having near-maximal train happiness. I'm hoping to take a short run on the Railrunner tonight or tomorrow. And if the schedule doesn't work well for a short turn trip, maybe I can get my parents to chase it in the car and take photos, and drive me back after a one-way... :)

Also, I discovered last night that Con-Cor now makes (affordable, not etched brass) models of PRR MP-54s ("owl-eyes"). Just have to see if I think they're easily modified from coach to MU (or if I should wait another year for them to release actual MU versions).

You need to work in a ship and a game (poker maybe already covers this?), and you can have a purity point!

Wow, how can I work a ship into this for myself... I'm kinda land-locked! But I just made a reservation for a train on Friday, La Posada to Albuquerque (my parents driving that stretch and picking me up there. Unless they really, really balk at the idea...)! I may have to game with y'all on BSW some evening from a hotel, since all my games are tightly packed in the trailer and my parents aren't gamers anyway. But this would be doable, no?

Consider yourself pinged.

I don't get to NYC until Sunday morning though, and I will very much understand if you are otherwise occupied on Sunday. But if you're available, it would be spiffy to see you.

There are some things planned for Sunday, but perhaps some time in the late afternoon/evening can be reserved. I'll let you know what's up.

Ping.

Saturday is better than Sunday, let me know if something is going on.

Clarification: you're also in the NYC area?

Not really, no, but I'm not allergic to travel.

On this weekend of all weekends? OK. I won't complain.

Saturday plans seem to mostly consist of putting Waldmans on trains and buses out of town, so there's a lot of free time then. Sunday is somewhat more crowded.
