I'm declaring this week to be National Superhero Week!
I saw Spiderman 2 last night (or is it this morning) at the midnight show with my roommate and my friend Brian. We got to the theatre almost an hour early in an effort to get good seats. The theatre was packed but we did manage to get decent seats. We were killing time before the movie started basically talking a lot of smack with Brian trying to cut me down and merely managing to leave himself open for the slicing and dicing of my counter attacks. I think the final score was Brian 1, Me 5! (well, 5 if you count the snap that was so funny I couldn't even begin to say it out loud! - Yes, it was THAT funny!)
The movie was great...the popular opinion is that it's better than the first one but I'm not so sure. They are both excellent movies, but I'm not yet convinced that #2 surpasses the original. I will definitely have to see it again to make sure.
As much as I love Tobey, the big Superhero news this week concerns WONDER WOMAN! After many years of waiting, yesterday Warner Brothers FINALLY released season one of Wonder Woman, the 70's tv show starring Lynda Carter, on DVD! WOOHOO!!!
I ordered my copy from Amazon.com and even though it was just shipped on monday, I received it today! Their free super-saver shipping is quicker than the 5-9 business days the tell you. I was absolutely thrilled to see the box waiting for me when I got to my office today and I couldn't wait to get home and start watching it!
The first thing I noticed when it started is that the quality is AMAZING! (I'll bet you expected me to say "WONDERful" didn't you? LOL) Especially when you consider that the episodes were filmed almost 30 years ago. Thankfully, the quality of the DVDs is much better than that of the bootleg VHS tapes I bought years ago - years prior to the Columbia House issued tapes.
Needless to say, I'm happy!!!!
