The Progress (not unlike The Awesome)
Been busy busy these last few weeks. The condo is coming along nicely, though we are still not finished. We got an awesome couch and rug for the living room. We also got a coffee table and end tables, but ended up taking them back. Didn't exactly work once it was in place. Still looking for some frames to reframe a few pictures and waiting on some bookshelves from my folks for the upstairs. It is coming though, and I am very happy.
In an unplanned move, I traded in my '99 Saturn for an '06 Ion 3 Sedan. It is "Stormy Gray" and I am very pleased. I was hoping to go another year or three with no payments (those two years were soooo nice), but for a couple of reasons it was the right thing to do. I love my new car and I love the free year of OnStar. I think OnStar might be one of those things (like broadband or HD Tv) that it is hard to go back from. Yay consumerism.
I've been on this energy/pollution kick of late. spiritnrg and I signed up with Green Mountain Energy and are doing the carbon neutral thing via CoolDriver for our cars, so that makes me feel somewhat better about my consumerism. We are calling it earning "Smug Points" which I think was from South Park. Also got two of these powerstrips after seeing them in Wired. Pretty cool and much cheaper than the equivalent non energy saving ones you'd get at Best Buy or Fry's. Also got a bunch of these compact fluorescent lights which Sam's had for super cheap. That's pretty much been my excitement. This Saturday, spiritnrg and I are going to an Astros game (my cousin gave us tickets) and that should be fun. That's about it.
