Many depressed people in the world

I have just been told by Pat that someone had just jumped off the building where I park my car everyday. It happened at lunch time a few days ago. That got me thinking - how depressed this person must have been to want to jump off a building that is only 7 storeys high. And I think it takes lots of courage as well.

CC: "That person must be really depressed to jump off a 7-storey high building"
Boss: "I wouldn't do that. You may not necessarily die if its 7-storey high"
CC: "I agree. What's worse is that if you don't die, you end up paralyzed - which is worse."
Boss: "Where will you jump off if you ever wanted to?"
CC: "I think Swissotel is good. I'll get a room on the higher floors. The rooms all have balconies, so its easy. And if you jump from the 70th floor, I think its almost guaranteed that you'll die"
Boss: "True. But imagine the 10-20 seconds of terror when you're falling. That must be difficult. Maybe taking pills will be better. At least, you'll die in your sleep."
CC: "Yea. That's true too."

Eeks. Not sure where this conversation's going. Its all depressing. But its just hard to imagine how someone will want to take his or her own life. I'm sure its just that they are not seeing the brighter side of the world. Its all about living day by day, and living to the fullest. Easier said than done.
