Does anyone sell white eggs without dates stamped on the shells anymore???!!!
I just bought 36 eggs and found out when I got home. These were supposed to be hardboiled for dying this Saturday.
UPDATE: unblemished eggs found at the big supermarket in Chestertown!!

The date stamp, having only seen it once or twice ever myself isn't what threw me here. It's that you didn't inspect the eggs until you got home!! The only times in my life where I have not opened (and inverted, to check the bottoms!) egg cartons is occasionally when I buy them in 2-pks of 18 and they are saran-wrapped together and it is impossible to check.
Wow.
I mean, nothing technically wrong with that, but I remember learning to do that as a kid shopping in Walbums near West Farms with my mom.

I live in Rock Hall. I've gotten used to not worrying whether the eggs are broken or not. It has been so rare that they are broken that I don't bother. Compared with when I lived in Dupont Circle or the suburbs.
In Japan, they are in clear packaging. But they are also not refrigerated. That is a different matter. Something about the health regulations.

Then I learned that A&P is going bankrupt so if SuperFresh doesn't find a buyer they will close by June. Boo.

I boiled a couple of them this morning for breakfast and they did fade a little.
