worth a try

Ordered a Wii hardware set (plus one more remote) and several games on Amazon, to be delivered to my Dad.

He just seems to have nothing to do almost all day, except when the caregivers are there or the PT or whatever. He needs to keep his mind sharp. At least at the skilled nursing facility he had bingo and karaoke. Watching TV is not the same as staying alert.

I told him last night my idea to send him the Wii, and he kind of perked up. He said it sounded like fun. I told him that I'd talk to Santa Claus about it. But then I realized actually it's the Easter Bunny this time of year. :)

One of the games I ordered for him is "Deal or No Deal." He watched that show constantly. I never really figured out the rules because I didn't watch it for more than 30 seconds at a time, but he would probably immediately remember. I also ordered "Balloon Pop," "Carnival Games," and "Big Brain Academy." A few years ago when he and ML visited frost_knight's parents' house in Bowie, they had a Wii and he tried Bowling and was quite good at it. But I'm not ordering anything that requires him to stand up, too risky given his condition.
