So just two more days till the end of the year, 2013 just flew by, can't believe how fast it went.
We did some fun things in december, first we had a lovely dinner at my friend Janines house. We were with eight of us, Janine, Sandra, Trude and I and our husbands. And we all took care of a dish for the dinner, I made pumpkinsoup, Sandra made Irish stew, Trude made a salade with chicory and Janine made some lovely meatballs and she took care of the dessert. We al brought our own drinks and our good moods.
And so we had a lovely evening to celebrate our friendship.
And at our own home we had an other festivity, a kind of combination of our Sinterklaas and Christmas.
We drew lots and for the person on that lot you had to buy a gift and make one, we are all quite creative so thats not a problem, just fun. I had our daughter Silvia to take care of, she had asked for a book about crochet and one about baking vegan cupcakes, and she likes the t.v.show supernatural so I was going to do something with that. I had participated in an artswap where I altered a whole deck of cards and put favorite songquotes on them. It was a wonderful swap, I received 52 cards in return from 52 different artists.
So I thought about that and made 56 cards for her and put funny quotes on them from the show supernatural and put them in a box I had laying around and decorated the lid too.
The box with the cards.
This is half of the cards.
Close up of some of them.
I had a lot of fun making these.
My lot was drawn by Trifon, Susans boyfriend, our son in law.
He is learning to be a goldsmith/silversmith and is in his last year, he is very good at it imho.
Look what he made me.
This beautiful hanger made of silver and enamel, the photo doesn't do it justice, the color is more purple ish, and it looks like it's a bit damaged but it's some small dust on it, it's really beautiful and I'm wearing it all the time.
Susanne had her father, he likes tractors so she made him a lovely painting of one on a small tray, he liked it a lot. Silvia had Trifon and she crochet him a character of a game he likes to play on the computer and Miranda had Susanne and she made her a wonderful drawing of her doll Xandria. I have no photo's of those items unfortunately.
Today I was having fun in the kitchen, I made brownies, a loaf of bread and pumpkinsoup.
The brownie covered in chocolat and sprinkled with green and red sprinkles.
The soup was really good.
So now on to the end of the year, I'll do some more bakery, fritters and applejacks.
Have a good new years eve everyone.
