So I've been down with the flu the last five days, man I felt awful. And it was the second time this autumn, I fear for the rest of the winter. ^_^
I was at a really pretty Christmas fair at the grounds of castle De Haar with my friends Sandra, Trude and Janine. We went there on saturday afternoon at half past three, the fair would be open till ten in the evening, and it was lovely with all the lights on and the pretty stalls and all the pretty Christmas stuff they were selling and the music.
But when we sat down to have some diner I already had my doubts about how I felt and if I should eat or not. But I thought I just felt like this because I had to eat something and it was cold outside. But when I was eating my soup I started feeling more blah and didn't finish it. The further the evening went the colder I got and the more miserable I felt.
There were straw bales on the sides of the paths and in between the stalls, I sat on one every time I had to wait and hoped that I would feel better, but it got worse. My friends felt bad for me and decided that it was time to go home. So we went to the shuttlebus that took us to the parking place, they also made sure I got an empty bag in case I got sick in the bus or in the car. Luckily that didn't happen. I was so happy when I got home and got into my bed.
Next day, on sunday we had a problem. My husband Frank had turned 60 on friday, and that evening we went out to diner just the two of us, which was real nice. And on sunday afternoon family and friends would come over to celebrate. I had all kinds of goodies in the house like pie and snacks and drinks. But with me laying sick in the bed it was no fun having all the people over, so Frank made some phone calls and told everyone the party was off.
And sunday afternoon Miranda went sick too, and Silvia was still recovering, she had been sick too.
My poor Misha doggy didn't like it at all, he missed me and so Frank brought him upstairs on the bed with me for some cuddles, he liked that.
I am glad I'm better now, and I hope It will stay that way.
For the last week or so it's been rather cold here, and on monday it started to snow and now it's pretty white and slippery outside. Looks a lot like winter here. This morning I had an appointment with my masseuse for a hot stone massage. She lives in Uitgeest, and I normally go there on my bike and that takes me about three quarters of an hour. But with this weather right now, and just out of sick-bay Silvia was so sweet to drive me there so I wouldn't have to cancel. Mmmm, hot stones.
