So I was in Japan for the last several days, attending the recent events at Tenshi no Sato. I have to say, it was an absolutely fabulous trip. I ate some amazing food. Saw beautiful gardens and architecture and some of the historical sights I missed on my first trip to Kyoto. Spent time with some of the most wonderfully generous and kind human beings I've ever known.
The trip was far too brief.
And I came back with the best souvenier ever - one that guarantees I'll be back in Kyoto very soon.
This is a Golden Ticket - an Express Pass to the front of the line at any Japanese Dolpa in the next year. I won this in the lottery at the VIP event I attended by special invitation with the FDQ staff and volunteers. I can't come close to expressing how exciting this is.
So on the advice of Shino Shigeta, I'll be heading back to Kyoto in March for Hometown Dolpa!
But man, the flight home was gruelling. I'm having just a little bit of trouble getting my sleep pattern back on schedule. Oh yeah, and caffeine detoxing again because while even the worst cup of coffee I had in Japan was pretty freaking delicious and perfectly HOT, there doesn't seem to be a drop of decaf in the country.
I think I can bear it.
And I hope the time flies because at this moment, March seems way too distant.
