I have book club tomorrow. Everybody brings some food or beverage to share with the group, and I'd been planning to bake something. But the book we're reading this month is "The Omnivore's Dilemma", so we had the bright idea to all be
locavores for the evening. Yay supporting local farmers, right? Dude, we're in Pennsylvania. It's March. You know what's in season in March in PA? Mushrooms, mushrooms and....
.mushrooms! Well, I did find some onions and butternut squash as well, so I guess I'll use the squash and mushrooms to make.....uh, mushroom squash stew? No, I'm actually thinking of making a kind of mushroom rice pilaf kind of thing. I found some rice that claims it's from New Jersey....I highly doubt it was grown there and suspect it was just packaged there instead, but it's the best I could find. So...this will work, right? Now I just have to finish reading the book by tomorrow....
